For 15 years Briane wrote and produced “It’s Always Something” the annual Gala for Gilda’s Club. He volunteered for Special Olympics Canada for a decade receiving the “Male Volunteer of the Year Award in 2005.
Playing Sheikh Fawsi Iben Fawsi in “Gas” was the highlight of his career, with additional credits in “Hiballin”, “The Funny Farm” “Tulps”, ”Breaking All the Rules” and “Spring Fever”, where he played Pedro the Cuban cad driver and was also a credited writer
Briane covered the Toronto Blue Jays for over a decade, with his stories appearing. In newspapers around the world. At YTV he was a contributor to the “Junior Jays” series. Briane was script supervisor for numerous NHL All-Star Games, wrote for the NHL Awards, Wrote to CFL Awards and wrote and directed two Grey Cup half-time shows.
Briane has written on too many award shows, including the Giller Prize, the Canadian Screen Awards and contributed to Sesame Park and the World Poker Tour. He helped create, wrote and produced Much Music’s cult Game show “Test Pattern”. At YTV he created “NBA Dunk Street”, “Don’t Lick the Pig” and “nanaLan” and produced wrote and appeared on “Oh Oh”.
A regular host at “Yuk Yuks”, “But That’s Another Story”, “Tales at the Tranzac”, “Storytelling Toronto”, “1001 Friday Nights of Comedy” and “Funny Your Should Tell That”, Briane began his hosting duties at the first Canadian Opera Company, post season Awards Ceremony. He has hosted a number of charity events and various bar mitzvahs. For Reebok Canada, he hosted and helped created “The International Wacky Games”, held at Toronto’s SkyDome SkyDome.
For over a decade at hotels, on trains and crossing the Atlantic on the Royal Viking Sky, Briane wrote and solved interactive Murder Mysteries as the detective. He created shows for the Grafton Street Dinner Theatre in Halifax, which he founded and co-wrote and co-directed “Dead Air” which played at the Charlottetown Theatre Festival.
